Employer Resources

Information for Employers

Apprenticeships are work-based training programmes designed around the needs of employers, which lead to national recognised qualifications.

Employer Obligations

As the employer you must give your apprentices an induction into their role and provide on-the-job training. You are also responsible for paying your apprentices & wages. Employment must normally be for at least 30 hours per week.

Apprenticeship Qualification Levels

There are three levels of Apprenticeship available:

Intermediate Level Apprenticeships
This level approximates to GCSE standard.

Advanced Level Apprenticeships
This level approximates to A level standard.

Higher Apprenticeships
This level approximates to Foundation Degree standard.

The National Apprenticeship Service is offering grants of £1500 for employers of 16 to 24 year olds to engage with the apprenticeship programme.

This £1,500 is in addition to the training costs of the Apprenticeship framework which are met in full for young people aged 16 to 18 and 50% for those aged 19 to 24.
Cameo Apprenticeship Programmes

Cameo Network Services Ltd has offered IT training and consultancy services since 1995. Our focus has historically been on larger organisations needing a depth of professional IT support. Our experience in this field has led us to believe that IT staff holding industry standard qualifications such as Microsoft's MCITP, are better equipped to contribute effectively to an IT department's operations. As such, all our IT apprenticeships embed such qualifications alongside any vocational 'BTEC' qualifications delivered as part of our apprenticeship programmes.
